J. Dali ~ Father of Visualism

Born in Brooklyn, New York, artist, spiritualist, entertainer, and teacher, Jeffrey Dali is the Father of Visualism--a meditative art form using perspective and layered images to recreate ever-changing forms as if seen in a vision. His extraordinary style draws the viewer into the painting and new images and details appear with each experience.

The paintings in this catalog represent nearly a 50-year retrospect of "Art for art’s sake." Previously, J. Dali’s masterpieces only hung in museums and were commissioned by such notable figures as Frank Sinatra, Malcolm Forbes, Prince Rainier, J. Paul Getty and Huntington Hartford. For the first time, J. Dali is releasing his private collection to the public, available in Limited Edition prints on canvas, repainted, numbered, and signed by the artist. A Limited Edition release of signed prints on paper is also available.

FORWARD:
As his namesake once said, "There is a method to my madness." Every time I see his paintings, I notice something new--something so carefully placed, like a multi-layered three-dimensional puzzle. Once the new image is seen, it changes the painting forever, giving it newness, depth, and even more character. To have the Maestro Artiste himself describe the thought and purpose that went into each painting is like getting a lesson on the eternal flux of perception.

J. Dali is a master of Light and Shadow. Every line has meaning, and every color has a mood. Varied and distinctive, his style is timeless and his eclectic and mysterious paintings represent a true expression of creative genius.

I am blessed and honored to help bring these elegant and extraordinary works to light. For nearly 50 years, friends and admirers have encouraged him to stop being so greedy with his private works and share them with the world. A deeply spiritual man, he humbly proclaims that his art is merely his therapy and that it is not of him, but through him; yet these velvet colored masterpieces are deserving of the highest artistic recognition and will surely take their place among the classics.

For the world, these paintings are proof-positive that masters of the arts still walk among us in a sea of pop-culture mediocrity. I hope that they will serve to intrigue and inspire humanity for hundreds of years to come.

A professor from FIT in New York once asked J. Dali what he called his mystical style of artwork. After a lengthy discussion about the unique, ever-changing multi-dimensional effects found in each of these paintings, they decided to invent a new "Ism." They looked up Visual and Ism in the dictionary, and this is the definition they came up with:

Visualism
A meditative art form pertaining to or characteristic of a vision; Seen in or as a vision.  J. Dali's work, Visualism, is the condition of being that which becomes your personal vision of seing ever changing art you look into." ~ Jeff Dali

"Art is one step from the visibly known toward the unknown."
~ Kahlil Gibran

A Tribute to Charlie Chaplin
When asked why J. Dali has dedicated multiple works to the late, great silent film star, he replied, "Chaplin could say more with one expression than most people can say with a thousand words. He was a great actor and a great person as well."

Chaplan

"You know this fellow is many-sided, a tramp, a gentleman, a poet, a dreamer, a lonely fellow, always hopeful of romance and adventure. He would have you believe he is a scientist, a musician, a duke, a polo player. However, he is not above picking up cigarette butts or robbing a baby of its candy. And, of course, if the occasion warrants it, he will kick a lady in the rear—but only in extreme anger!"

~ Charles Chaplin

COMMISSIONS

J. Dali is a painter of the soul—a conveyor of thoughts and images captured with colors, lines, lights, and shadows. While painting portraits, he requires his subjects to sit for him as he communicates the person’s very essence, thoughts, dreams, and emotions onto canvas. For commercial commissions and public art displays, he seeks to represent the energy of an idea or atmosphere through symbolism in each one-of-a-kind work.

Original masterpiece works are available strictly by commission.
